National Workshop on Material Synthesis, HP-HT technique and use of Electron Microscopy

(February 16-22, 2016)

National Centre of Experimental Mineralogy and Petrology (NCEMP), University of Allahabad, Allahabad-211004, India is organizing a “Workshop on Material Synthesis, HP-HT technique and use of Electron Microscopy”, between February 16-22, 2016 for 20 participants. This Workshop shall focus mainly on experimental demonstrations of different synthesis/characterization techniques at high pressures-temperatures based on the state of the art facilities and expertise available:

1. Walker-type Multi-anvil HP-HT Apparatus (up to 20 GPa),
2. Kennedy-type Piston Cylinder HP-HT Apparatus,
3. Tuttle-type Hydrothermal Apparatus,
4. Electron Probe Micro Analyser (EPMA),
5. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM),
6. Powder X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) Technique,
7. Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR),
8. Electrical Conductivity (EC),
9. Ultrasonic wave velocity (USWV),
10. Magnetic Susceptibility (MS) Measurements,
11. Sample powdering by Planetary Ball Mill,
12. Sol-Gel Synthesis,
13. Polymer Film preparation Technique and
14. Glass & Ceramic Synthesis Techniques.

This Workshop will be extremely useful for the researchers working in the field of Earth Sciences, Physics, Chemistry and Material Science.

The Registration Fee for the Workshop is Rs. 2500/-* for Faculty Members/ Scientists and Rs. 1000/-* for research students.
